Rushy should have been captain. He's the most experienced and most respected. Never even asked afaia.

I was happy with the appt of Bangers, tbh. Made more sense to me than risking Rushy's form by burdening him with the captaincy

Yes, whilst I wouldn't go as far saying happy I could certainly see the logic of it given the absence of obvious alternatives. I know Rushy was keen on taking the responsibility and, given his experience and the respect he has from both members and players, I doubt if his form would have been adversely affected. In fact, could have been the exact opposite given that he's a local lad.

Poytner warming up for T20
Stuart Poynter’s 103rd-over blitz took him to an unbeaten century as Durham’s Second XI racked up 388 on the second day of the Second XI Championship match against Yorkshire.

Poynter took 28 off the penultimate over of the day to go to a rapid 89-ball century, putting his side within touching distance of maximum batting points.

The Ireland international took leg-spinner Josh Poysden for three maximums, two fours & a two as he ended the day unbeaten on 102.

for some reason chrome won't let me open that

Can I assume he won't be playing for us as an overseas player next year?

I don't think it'll change his status in county cricket, playing for Germany is probably the same as playing for Ireland before they got test match status.

We can probably assume he won't be playing for us under any status. Pretty certain he's in the last year of his contract

He's been with us for quite a while now. I remember watching him and Benks saving us at Headingley. That feels like a very long time ago. 2010 or 2011 maybe?

Yes, another in a long list of Durham youngsters who promised much yet delivered little.

Second X1 bowling first against Somerset in the semi-final.
200/6 at present - naturally the 7th wicket partnership is already over 50.

It's over 100 now! Uncanny.
If it keeps going according to script we'll be 3 or 4 down in the blink of an eye at the start of our innings.
