When I phoned the box office to renew my membership, the voice sounded vaguely familiar. I did wonder afterwards if Cal was still working in the box office, because I had an idea that he was working there at some stage after he left us as a player. It may very well not have been him, of course, and it's just me going all sentimental about the days when we had a good side

Hopefully he hasn't grown his hair long again

I think it probably will have been him, he was definitely still there last year so is unlikely to have left.

He was there during the close season, or, more correctly, was supposed to be there. I was put through to reception who apologised , said he'd popped out for a snack, could I ring back later. I rang next day and went through exactly the same procedure. A few minutes later I take a call "Callum Thorp here, sorry I missed you, I'd just popped out for a snack, how can I help you? "." Must be a big snack, Callum" I replied " you were ordering it yesterday when I called". I then renewed my season card.

Alex Lees (c), Gareth Harte, Will Smith, Michael Richardson, Jack Burnham, Stuart Poynter, Ned Eckersley, Ben Raine, James Weighell, Liam Trevaskis, Josh Coughlin, Matt Salisbury, Chris Rushworth

7 bat and 6 bowl in the squad, so I imagine we'll shed one of each. Coughlin probably from the bowlers, not sure which batsman from Richardson, Burnham, Eckersley

Trevaskis did well with bat and ball in SA, so might have secured himself a number 8 or number 9 berth

We must have wanted to bat this morning, there was a toss but Derbyshire won it and will bat first.
Not sure about this batting lineup with Poynter down to bat 6! No Eckersley with Weighell and Coughlin also missing out.

Correction - Weighell is playing.

36/4 with Raine striking again. Looks like a more than useful attack and some depth with Potts and Carse not in the squad and Weighell not used yet.
Then again it will have to be more than useful when you look at the batting lineup.

Yep. Might have been a good toss to lose as well.

Excellent morning. Weighell with a wicket just before lunch. 69/5.
Now lets see how many the last 5 add!
