I thought he was on a white ball contract. Maybe he's realised that in order to make the England world T20 squad he probably needs to be a red ball specialist. Or he's realised that there is now no more domestic 50 over cricket that he can play to keep his ODI place..... but that's true of all the England ODI squad, I suppose

He isnt on white ball deal..hes played for surrey in red ball this year already..

Yes, Invariably competing CC sides have their team bolstered by an experienced Kolpac or dual passport holder in addition to the standard overseas player. Undoubtedly there has been progress this season but whilst it's easy to clear out underperforming players the challenge is to replace them with better. I'll reserve judgement on our DoC until I have evidence he has achieved that.
