it'll happen again at Edgbaston.... guaranteed

Might go the other way where we bat last and by some quirk the target is 260 in 20 overs!

Half century for Lees is encouraging but we keep getting off to poor starts in the power play. Two great innings from Bancroft and one from Richardson rescued us in the first two games but constantly being two down is poor. I wonder if there's a case for retaining Harte when Richo returns and leaving out Clark.

I certainly would retain Harte if only because it gives us the 6th bowler option. In effect this game consisted of one team playing in 50 over mode and then team batting 2nd set a T20 target. Clearly uneven but if roles were reversed I wouldn't have fancied us getting that target.
It appears Bangers rates Salisbury higher than most of the members do.
Still, plenty to be encouraged by.

Yeah, 6th bowler option is very handy and on current form wouldn't weaken the batting. I think Salisbury is more of a 4 day bowler - just looked at the yearbook and he must have arrived towards the end of the RL50 because he only bowled 7 overs last year. He had a very good spell the other day then was poor towards the end so it might just be lack of experience in the format.
That said he hasn't been convincing in the opening two 4 day games so I still wonder if he's nowhere near as good as he seemed to be in the ultra-seamer friendly conditions last year.

The site was hacked a few days ago and many posts were lost and not retrievable. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater :D

It appears Bangers rates Salisbury so, at present, he's going to be picked. I'd have no objection to Rushy being rested during RL50 but selecting him for the 2nd today makes a mockery of the decision.

Someone saw him the other day at the ground and apparently he said he had a niggle so maybe they're just playing him in the 2nds to test it out - although I agree with you about his selection.
Forecast for tomorrow suggests the dreaded DL might rear its ugly head again - looks like showers throughout the afternoon.

Weighell is also playing for the 2nd which suggests Wood will be playing at Edgbaston.

Yep. Here's hoping he does.

According to the website there are no changes to the squad but if that Daily Mail report about Wood travelling with them and Friday being a possible return then maybe he will feature. Doesn't seem likely though.

When I saw him bowling in the Northants game he bowled pretty well after a slightly shaky start, and his figures were very respectable against Leicester, so I haven't given up on him.

this time we'll win the toss and insert them. The rain will hold off for the full 50 overs and our chase will be hampered by constant rain delays, and endless DL recalculations

knowing this, Warks will bowl their 2 best bowlers out straight away, limit us to a below DL par score after 20 overs and wait for the rain to stop us from taking full advantage of their weaker change bowlers. Then as the overs are reduced it won't matter for them because they will have had full value from their top 2.
