A good place to go to check out young Afghan talent (a phrase I would not advise you to type into Google.)

The second round of matches started today and a youngster by the name of Hayatullah caught my eye with figures of 7.5-3-12-3 to help Kunduz bowl out Khost for a meagre 167.

It was a day for bowlers, however as Kunduz closed on 59-4.

Another bowling display stood out for me today - Khost debutante Mohammadullah got a rather impressive 6fer in his first ever List A game. He could not stop Kunduz taking an 80 run first innings lead though.

Khost closed on a much more impressive looking 131-2 - regaining a 51 run lead.

As is often the case in these three day games this game ended in a draw.

Khost's innings was held together by Sadam Mangal who scored 110 of the 177 runs they scored on the final day. Khost managed to post 308 in their second innings despite 5 batsmen being sent back on ducks.

A further 4 batsmen went in single figures for Kunduz and hands were shaken with them on 112/5.

Kunduz finish the second round of fixtures in second place with Khost, who did look more impressive across the whole match, in second.

The final day between Khost and Kandahar is set up quite nicely.

Kandahar need 281 to win at the start of their second innings. The fact that Khost are in the driving seat is thanks to their bowlers shooting Kandahar out in a day. Most notable are the figures of 5-59 taken by M. Hashum in his second ever List A game.

Khost made light work of Kandahar as only 4 batsmen made it out of single figures with 4 getting ducks.

The stand out performer was Bakhtarullah Atal who got 7-36.

Kandahar are still looking for their first win of the season as Khost move into third with their first win.
