At Port-of-Spain, trailing by 42 runs on first innings, Trinidad replied strongly in the second, reaching 264-5 at stumps at the end of the second day's play. Veteran Jason Mohammed hit 79 not out, and there were 40s from Jeremy Solozano, Joshua da Silva, and Imran Khan, who was also not out at the close. Medium pacer Raymon Reifer has taken two wickets for Guyana to date.
At Warner Park, a total of 21 wickets fell on the second day. Legspinner Damion Jacobs took 5-42 to dismiss Jamaica for 190 all out, Jermaine Blackwood topscoring with 69. Leading by 14 runs on first innings, the Leewards did even worse the second time around, bundled out for a mere 142 all out by pacers Jerome Taylor (4-31), Rovman Powell (3-43) and Derval Green (2-31). Allrounder Rahkeem Cornwall topscored with 44 not out, while wicketkeeper Jahmar Hamilton made 41. Chasing what could be a challenging 157 for victory, Jamaica were 92-4 at the close, Chadwick Walton topscoring so far with 27. Jacobs has taken all four wickets to fall in the second innings to date.
It was a totally different picture in Bridgetown at the halfway stage of their match. Veteran opener Devon Smith made 199, with support from his nephew and wicketkeeper, Dennis Smith, who made 66, as the Windwards declared on 470-8. Pacers Miguel Cummins, Chemar Holder and Shamar Springer took two wickets each. Barbados were 154-4 going into today's third day, thanks largely to a knock of 64 not out from Jonathan Carter.
