Bloody hope not as I think we have to win this game from here.

Chris Read retired hurt!

Hand injury, will bat again if required, but won't keep wicket.

175/8.

Will Chris Read come out to bat at the fall of the next wicket?

He did, but ultimately all out 189.

First game of the season where we are in the box seat. Can we push home our advantage and ultimately get a win tomorrow?

Carberry scratches around for 11 balls and then gets out without scoring.

You'd think a bit of positivity from the off was the order of the day from the position Hants are in.

Smith now in to prat about for 6 or 7 overs before playing an aggressive shot?

Second innings has started well - 24/3!

At least they'll be a result and looks like there's plenty in it for the bowlers.

Need to avoid a second innings total like Leicester have just achieved mind.

Need to inject a bit of positivity into the innings, quick singles, rotate the strike, put the bowlers on the back foot.

Hope Ervine can be the man to spark that.

A steady flow of wickets falling isn't such a bad thing as it advances the game nicely and suggests there is still plenty in it for the bowlers.

May be Crane's day tomorrow?

Useful contribution from Smith. Probably put the game beyond Notts.

Notts are going to have to make the biggest total of the match to win.

Intriguing day ahead of us. I don't see any reason to declare - try and eek out whatever further runs we can get (setting them 300 or more would be a nice psychological barrier), and if they haven't bowled us out within, say, 10 or 12 overs in the morning then just have a swing and burn our final wicket or two in doing so. Although the upside to getting bowled out right at the start would be the opportunity of having, say, 10 overs with a second new ball at the end of tomorrow, if the game is still going on at that point (and you'd think we'd be amongst the tail, if it was).

No sign of any rain, but looks pretty cloudy, which should play right into our hands.

Hopefully Read's hand injury restricts his batting again tomorrow. I know it's not exactly a sporting thing to say, but after the injury's we've had this season (today's latest injury, Topley out for a further three months with a stress fracture) then an opponent going down injured mid-game is surely the least we deserve. And a fit Read could easily be the difference between us winning and drawing or losing.

Not quite sure where we go with Adams and Carberry, but that's not for tomorrow.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

Notts 50/3 at lunch. 3rd wicket goes down last ball before.

Come on Hants.

4 down now and Read presumably still struggling with his hand injury?

He is, but he will bat, just don't know at what number.

Dawson has just been bashed about by Patel in his first over. Hundred up for the loss of four wickets.

An ominous partnership is building between Patel and Taylor, we need a wicket fast.

Partnership now over a hundred and Notts must be favourites from here.
