Is it just me or was it really stupid of Andrew not to run through for the single Crane was running off the last ball of the penultimate over?

Gareth Andrew might just have saved our season. An 80 run defeat here, and we'd have seriously struggled to pick ourselves up tomorrow - especially when you throw in the travelling, lack of sleep etc. But 342 is a good, good score. Yes it's a defeat, another defeat. But you can't complain at that score. Four men made 50, and Vince and hopefully Wheater will be back tomorrow to no doubt replace two of the men who failed to make 50. And as awful as the bowling is, it's not the team's fault that Wood, Topley and Fidel are all injured. So hopefully the guys can take some heart from that. We just need to go into these games and pray that whichever seamers we play, they take some early wickets. It's the only way we'll ever keep the scores down, and it helps our spinners (who are good) to control the game like you'd expect. Maybe try Tommo over Stevenson tomorrow?

Forgot about the Gloucester game, starting to lose interest really. Another defeat in a miserable season thus far.

About 30 short of where we should have got to after 30 overs, and indeed about 30 short of what I suspect is par. Not sure you can hold out too much hope that this bowling attack can defend 289.

Looks promising right now - 74/4 with Roy and Sangakkara back in the pavilion.

Dropped Ansari at slip as well, amongst taking the three quick wickets.

So much of our limited overs success down the years has been built on our spinners (Briggs, Smith, Dawson, Afridi, Tahir, Maxwell) strangling the opposition batsmen during the middle overs. This is the first time this season really which they've had the chance to do that, given that so often our bit-part 30-something seamers have leaked runs all over the shop and not taken early wickets, relieving the batsmen of any pressure when they then do face the spinners. Shame in that respect then that Afridi is our latest injury.

(Carberry, Adams, Alsop, Ervine, Dawson, Afridi, Wheater, Wood, Berg, Topley, Fidel - we can now put out a full XI of first team players who have been injured this season)

What the hell, just arriving near Southampton under bright blue skies and in the sun to find the match abandoned due to rain already?

There's something on Twitter about rain seeping under the covers so the pitch is too wet for play. Sounds like something has gone wrong somewhere.

Does anyone else recall a very similar event in a t20 a few years back now? Definitely have a recollection of driving up the m27 before under blue skies following a heavy downpour to hear the game was surprisingly abandoned.

And now there's something about a wet outfield. Don't think the official reason has come out yet.
