On the first day of the first round, in a break with recent tradition, batsmen dominated two of the three matches. Opening batsman Raj Chandrika hit 140 not out as defending champions Guyana reached 287-4 at stumps at Providence, while offspinner Shane Shillingford has taken three wickets for the Windwards so far. At Kensington Oval, hosts Barbados closed at 262-2 against Jamaica, thanks to Kraigg Brathwaite's 111 not out, and a 77 from Shai Hope, who came in one down, not opening the batting. On a rain-affected day at Warner Park in St Kitts, Trinidad made 155-3, on the back of opener Evin Lewis's 66, while Narsing Deonarine was 43 not out. Pacer Gavin Tonge has taken two wickets for the Leewards to date.

In a break from recent Caribbean tradition, batsmen again continued to dominate at the half-way stage of the first round. Defending champions Guyana made 462 all out, built around 146 from opener Raj Chandrika, while offspinner took 6-107 at Providence. At the end of the second day, the Windwards were 127-2, Tyrone Theophile topscoring so far with 46.

Barbados were strongly placed in their match at Kensington Oval, having made 373 all out, thanks largely to a 119 from opening batsman Kraigg Brathwaite, and 40s from Shamarh Brooks and Royston Chase. Left-arm spinner Nikita Miller took 4-100 and pacer Jason Dawes 3-51. At stumps on Day Two, Jamaica were 113-2, led by Kirk Edwards' 51 not out, and a knock of 49 from opener John Campbell.

At Warner Park, there were half-centuries from Steven Katwaroo (71), opener Evin Lewis (66), Narsing Deonarine (55), and Yannick Cariah (50), as Trinidad made 325 all out, spinner Rahkeem Cornwall taking 3-72. At the end of the second day's play, the Leewards continued their historical trend of being out of their depth, reeling at 55-4.

It was yet another sorry display by the Leewards, as they lost 16 wickets on the third day at Warner Park, to go down by an innings and 23 runs to Trinidad. In reply to Trinidad's 325 all out, the Leewards were bowled out for 118 in their first innings, Nkrumah Bonner the only batsman to offer any resistance with 57 not out, against spinners Imran Khan (4-46) and Kavesh Kantasingh (4-29). Following on, the Leewards did little better in their second innings, as part-time spinner Narsing Deonarine spearheaded an allround Trinidad bowling performance, taking three wickets, in the Leewards total of 184 all out, Shane Jeffers topscoring with 36.

Poor batting was also a feature of the penultimate day at Providence, where 18 wickets fell. Veteran Devon Smith topscored with 52, as the Windwards were bowled out for 228 by part-time spinner Steven Jacobs (4-56). However, despite leading by 134 on first innings, Guyana were embarrassingly skittled out for 95 in their second by offspinner Shane Shillingford (5-36). Set 220 to win, given the poor batting on display once more in the PCL, that is probably a target that favours the bowling side.

At Kensington Oval, the trend of wickets tumbling continued, with 16 Jamaicans wickets going down. In response to 373 by Barbados, the Jamaicans were bowled out for 189 in their first innings by medium-pacer Kevin Stoute (4-12), Kirk Edwards topscoring with 58. Following on, Jamaica limped to 161-8 at stumps, pacer Miguel Cummins and offspinner Ashley Nurse taking three wickets each to date.

As expected, chasing a target of 230 to win, the Windwards were bowled out for 125 by Guyana's part-time spinner Steven Jacobs (4-35) and medium-pacer Raymon Reifer (4-41). Jamaica lost quickly to Barbados, being bowled out for 187, and the hosts knocked off the four without loss needed to win the match.

Shamarh Brooks hit 102 not out and Roston Chase chipped in with 59, to propel Barbados to 247-4, on the first day of their second round match against Trinidad at Kensington Oval. Vishal Singh hit 111 not out and veteran Shiv Chanderpaul chipped in with 65, to rescue defending champions Guyana from 21-3, and leave them at 218-5 at stumps on Day One at Providence. Pacer Alzarri Joseph has taken three wickets so far for the Leewards. Andre McCarthy topscored with 92 in Jamaica's total of 230-7 at the end of the first day of their match at Sabina Park. Part-time spinner Liam Sebastien has taken 5-43 so far for the Windwards.

Legspinner Imran Khan took 4-75 and pacer Shannon Gabriel 3-49 at Kensington Oval to restrict Barbados to 300 all out, Shamarh Brook topscoring with 111. In reply, Trinidad were struggling on 153-5 at the halfway stage of the match, mediuim pacer Kevin Stoute with two wickets to date. Kyle Hope is the leading scorer so far with 46.

Vishal Singh was out for 150, as Guyana ramped up a mammoth 419-9 declared against minnows the Leewards at Providence. Steven Jacobs provided support with 63 not out, as pacer Alzarri Joseph took 5-99. At stumps on the second day of their four-day match, the visitors were reeling at 48-4.

It was a more balanced battle at Sabina Park, as part-time spinner Liam Sebastien took 7-58 to bowl Jamaica out for 259. In response, spinners Nikita Miller (4-67) and Damion Jacobs (3-76) combined to dismiss the Windwards for 212, Sunil Ambris topscoring with 89. Jamaica were five without loss at stumps.

It was back to the same old story at Sabina Park, as 20 wickets fell on the third day to give Jamaica a 30-run win over the Windwards. Leading on first innings by 47 runs, Jamaica could only manage 128 all out in their second, tailender Damion Jacobs topscoring with 40. They were skittled out by offspinner Shane Shillingford (5-57) and pacer Mervin Mathew (5-31). Set 176 for victory, as so often turns out in the PCL, that proved to be to the advantage of the bowling side. Left-arm spinner Nikita Miller took 5-46 as Jamaica bowled the Windwards out for 145, veteran opener Devon Smith topscoring with 50.

At Kensington Oval, wicketkeeper Steven Katwaroo topscored with 64, as Trinidad could only manage 246 all out, bowled out by pacers Kevin Stoute (4-54) and Miguel Cummins (3-65). Leading by 54 runs on first innings, Kraigg Brathwaite hit 72 and Shamarh Brooks 51 not out, as Barbados closed the penultimate day on 171-3.

In yet another embarrassing batting display, the Leewards were shot out for 85 all out at Providence by left-arm spinner Gudakesh Moti-Kanhai (6-20). Forced to follow on 334 runs behind by Guyana, at stumps on Day Three they were 215-3, thanks to 50s from Daron Cruickshank and Nkrumah Bonner.

The Leewards crashed to an innings and 35 runs loss to Guyana, collapsing from an overnight 215-3 to 299 all out, falling to spinners Gudakesh Moti-Kanhai (5-85) and Steven Jacobs (3-97). Nkrumah Bonner topscored with 89, and Daron Cruickshank hit 57.

Finally, a drawn match...In their second innings, Barbados made 243-5 declared, on the back of 55 from Shamarh Brooks, while Imran Khan took two wickets. Set an unlikely 298 for victory, Trinidad secured the draw by reaching 182-4 at stumps, Evin Lewis topscoring with 41 before flying off to Bangladesh to play T20 cricket.

Guyana lead with 35 points, followed by Barbados with 25, Trinidad 23, and Jamaica 18. The Windwards and the Leewards occupy the cellar positions with seven points and four points respectively.

That was a mind-boggling declaration by Steve Liburd...I still don't know what he was thinking, or what's his strategy, aside from running from a pitch that assists seamers. Orlando Peters was the topscorer with 11 not out, while there were two wickets each for pacers Mervin Matthew, Kevin McClean and Kenroy Peters. Tyrone Theophile hit 54 not out to guide the Windwards to 104-5 at Roseau, on a first day in which 12 wickets fell. Pacer Alzarri Joseph has taken three wickets so far.

Rain affected all three matches on the opening day of the third round. In the top-of-the-table clash at Providence, Captain Leon Johnson hit 73 not out to lead Guyana to 170-2 against Barbados. Jeremy Solozano reached stumps on 69 not out, to lead Trinidad to 145-5 at Queens Park Oval, while medium pacer Dave Bernard has taken three wickets so far for Jamaica.

There was more embarrassment at Windsor Park yesterday, as the Windwards beat the Leewards by eight wickets within two days. A total of 17 wickets fell on Day Two, as Tyrone Theophile topscored with 62 in the hosts' first innings score of 140 all out, pacer Alzarri Joseph taking 7-46. Trailing by 116 runs thanks to that idiotic first innings declaration, the Leewards did a bit better in the second, making 170 all out, thanks mainly to Nkrumah Bonner's 64. Spinners Liam Sebastien (5-76) and Alston Bobb (4-48) set up a paltry victory target of 55, which the Windwards knocked off for the loss of just two wickets.

In the top-of-the-table clash at Providence, Vishal Singh continued his good form with the bat, hitting 121, and Leon Johnson chipped in with 74, to carry Guyana to 337 all out, while medium pacer Kevin Stoute was Barbados' best bowler with 3-40. Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul has taken two wickets so far to leave Barbados reeling at 60-4 at stumps at the end of the second day.

Opening batsman Jeremy Solozano hit 110 to help Trinidad recover to 271 all out on Day Two at Queen's Park Oval. Medium pacer Dave Bernard was Jamaica's best bowler with 3-25. At the halfway stage of the match, Jamaica 119-3, thanks mainly to Andre McCarthy's 49 not out.

There was another dismal batting performance at Providence on the third day, as spinner Veerasammy Permaul (3-41) and Gudakesh Moti-Kanhai (3-19) combined to dismiss Barbados for a paltry 104 all out. Forced to follow on 233 runs behind, the visitors batted better a second time around, reaching 166-3, thanks largely to Jonathan Carter's 89.

Trinidad were left battling for the draw, going into today's final day at Queen's Park Oval. In their first innings, Andre McCarthy hit 121 to take Jamaica to 291 all out, and a slim first innings lead of 20. Legspinner Imran Khan took 7-90. At stumps, Trinidad were reeling at 87-4, all four wickets going to part-time spinner John Campbell.

Guyana registered an easy nine-wicket win over Barbados at Providence. Jonathan Carter hit 89 and there were 50s for Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase in Barbados' second innings score of 272 all out, left-arm spinner Gudakesh Moti-Kanhai taking 6-79. Set a paltry target of 40, the Guyanese hit it off for the loss of only Shimron Hetmyer's wicket.

At Port-of-Spain, Jamaica beat Trinidad by six wickets. Spinners John Campbell (7-73) and Nikita Miller (3-64) bowled Trinidad out for 175 in their second innings, Kjorn Ottley topscoring with 31. Set 156 for victory, Campbell completed an allround performance with 83 not out to take the tourists to victory. Left-arm spinner Kavesh Kantasingh took 3-51.

At the end of the third round, Guyana lead with 53 points, Jamaica are second on 34, followed by Barbados and Trinidad on 28 each, the Windwards on 21, and the Leewards on the bottom, as usual, with seven points.

Medium pacer Chris Barnwell (5-32) and left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul (3-59) combined to dismiss Trinidad for 210, on the opening day of their fourth round match at Queen's Park Oval. It was a sorry batting display by the hosts, who recovered from 102-8 thanks mainly to 53s from tailenders Marlon Richards and Uthman Mohammed. Defending champs Guyana were nine without loss at stumps.

Kyle Corbin hit 68 and Shamarh Brooks 51, as Barbados were well-placed on 233-4 at stumps on Day One at St George's in Grenada. Part-timer Dalton Polius has taken two wickets so far for the Windwards.

There was another shocking batting display at Sabina Park, where 16 wickets fell on the first day. Left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell (5-38) and left-arm spinner Nikita Miller (4-53) combined to dismiss cellar-dwellers Leewards for 164, wicketkeeper Jahmar Hamilton topscoring with 51 not out. Jamaica did even worse when they batted, slumping to 69-6, Gavin Tonge, Alzarri Joseph and Rahkeem Cornwall taking two wickets each so far.
