Can't say i'm enthusiastic about the signing, mostly down to the period of availability. Don't see the point in signing a white ball specialist who is available for 7 CC games but only two T20 Blast and five RLODC group stage matches.

Yes, a 1st class average of 30 says he's nothing more than a journeyman.Yorkshire already have several with averages better than that not counting centrally contracted players . If there's nothing better than that available than I'd hope Durham don't bother.

Depending on what Durham want, there are some decent overseas players available even with the advent of Franchise T20. For example the nearest equivalent for John Hastings is New Zealand's Jimmy Neesham, don't think he's signed up for any T20 tournament this year.
I'm not sure how Travis Head can improve the County Championship side. Even with Root and Bairstow England bound for most of the season, Yorkshire's top six is still going to consist of Lees, Lyth, Leaning, Gale, Ballance and Hodd.
