Really humiliating defeat for Somerset. 8 defeats in the last 10 matches in all competitions, only 2 victories at home in all competitions. Clock ticking for Mr Maynard surely.

He's already talking about making tough decisions ( that was before today) and that's usually a bad sign. He also says another such decision will be made in the next few days-speculation is that the overseas player ( left out today) might be on his way out.

That's what it was, Rehman has been released with immediate effect. There was a suggestion that -should Chris Rogers not return to Middlesex following the MCC ticket controversy - Somerset would be keen to sign him for next season-or possibly for the last part of this one after the Ashes finishes.

If they are after Rogers it might be bad news for Trescothick as Somerset's promising young opener Tom Abell recently signed a new deal.

Trescothick will be 40 next year and his returns have been diminishing for a while now since his injury a couple of seasons back, might be time for him to hang up his bat and focus on his coaching role at Taunton school.

That's a significant drop off post-injury. Must be especially tough for an opener when age starts to catch up.

why is Alfonso Thomas playing for Sussex?

Epic victory by Yorkshire against Worcestershire, scoring 345 in a 50 over game is almost vulgar-esque and very un Yorkshire-like.

Sent out on loan for the competition, rather odd considering he was Somerset's one day captain! Must be a case of Somerset going for a youth policy - Trescothick has also been dropped.

Tresco stats above are rather alarming and send a clear message-he needs to be remembered as the great player he was not the shadow he now is.I'm sure his old mate Strauss will find him a job :hug
Once Divo found his powers were diminishing he was off like a shot.

Looks as if deciding to bat wasn't one of Eoin Morgan's better ideas.

Trescothick pulled himself out of limited overs cricket quite a few weeks ago now. And yes, loaning Thomas out is because Somerset want to look more to the future. The Overton twins, Gregory, Leach, Dockrell, Waller.

He's still available to Championship cricket for them, as far as I am aware.

Yes, and the loan deal is that Thomas won't play against Somerset should they meet Sussex in the latter stages of the RL Cup.

Northants 0-3. After 3 balls. After choosing to bat.
