We've had some off season turmoil.... Our best batsman and the best all-rounder in the league, have both left our club to join another side in the premier division..a huge blow to our side this coming season.

:D Thanks, but i prefer fielding in warm conditions than cold. Even in 16 degrees temperature in morning the ball hits so hard. What will happen if i field in 5 to 15 degrees ;)

It would be a good challenge though as a specialist batsman to score runs in tough batting conditions (against pacers). But then easy to score runs against spinners there, as i bat in middle order. :D

Good to see that you are still the captain. Any specific strategies for team combo or is it flexible as per opponents, time of matches and 20/30/40/50 overs? How are preparations going on. Club coaches are same over lot of years or even decades, so i assume you have same coach?

i never have a set in stone 11...i have an idea what my best 11 is, but depends on conditions...opponents etc....Indoor nets start in 2 weeks, cant wait to get back into it

Not a good net session this week. Early midweek interest from folk never converted to attending nets, so only 3 turned up. In addition my bat has developed a small crack at the ridge, bowling wise the yips made a comeback as I could not bowl spin the ball due to tension and managed to get three balls stuck on the roof of the nets. A change of bowling style was prompted, just went running in trying to bowl as fast as possible which yielded in better results (an edge behind and hit middle stump) in amongst some wayward filth.

Just three people? At least you got plenty of practice. I used to hate batting in the nets, bit of claustrophobia, maybe. Come to think of it, I didn't do to well out of the nets either.

Must admit im another one who dosen't really benefit from 'netting' there's nothing better than time in the middle with bat and ball.

How much is the total count of clubcricketers in your club ? Surprised to read only 3 had interest this week.
