Squad:

Paul Horton (capt), Andrea Agathangelou, James Anderson, Karl Brown, Steven Croft, Alex Davies (wkt), Kyle Jarvis, Kabir Ali, Simon Kerrigan, Ashwell Prince, Luke Procter, Luis Reece, Tom Smith, Wayne White.

Chapple and Hogg both injured, and Buttler rested. Great start to the season!

I thought Chapple never got injured, that's why I put him in my FL team. Now Lumb goes great start for me.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Jimmy gets Lumb, 27 for 3.

No Taylor for Notts, which is a little strange, is he injured?

Also, Lancashire are putting up the dismissals on youtube which is rather nice.

Good rebuilding work from Notts. This mornings wicket was Ali's first LVCC wicket for us. Wonder how Javis is feeling about cashing in his international career to carry drinks.

Kyle Jarvis, right arm fast, played 8 Test for Zimbabwe. We signed him at the fag end of last season, he's only 25 but retired internationally to come and play for us on a Kolpak deal.

If Ali stays fit and with Hogg and Chapple to come back, can't see him getting a game.

Which begs the question... why retire from the international stuff?

then again..... the chances of Kabir staying fit must be fairly remote

Middlesex 73/6 now with the veteran Lewis taking 4/30 from 11.2 overs-almost certain to get a 5 for on his Sussex debut.

Zimbabwe cricketers can't rely on getting paid. Given the financial corruption reported by their board, it's not surprising their players prefer county contracts. Shame though.

Only one wicket falls between lunch and tea, Wessels bowled by Jimmy. Quite a fight back from Notts, lead by Samit who is in touching distance of a well deserved ton.
