The rain has stopped! The outfield is still wet at the ground though so there will be an early lunch with a view to starting at 1pm. #LVCC

Hopefully the conditions will be more conducive to us taking 7 wickets in 48 overs this afternoon.

This missed session probably helps us, realistically we won't win this game, so we need time taken out of it.

Play to start at 1pm if no more rain.

Kyle Abbott bowling first up, bit odd considering the new ball is due in 18 overs.

Yep, we can't exactly complain about the rain. This game was either heading for a draw, or a Derby victory were we to collapse in our second innings. Bowled out inside 50 overs or something.

But that likelyhood is now greatly reduced. Derby would have to declare, and no doubt forgo at least one batting bonus point, to get us in early enough for there still to be enough time left in the game to chase down whatever we set them, on the off chance that such a collapse did occur by ourselves.

This rain has surely turned it into a bonus point only game now. Just five sessions left of the match, and only 12 wickets have fallen so far.

Our bowling attack is looking pretty toothless in this game. Can only hope that the new ball does something.

Thankfully it has done. 24 overs to pick up 5 wickets.

Only 3 wickets to pick up now & Derbys are still 16 behind. Good that we can force these collapses -as we did against Glos in the last match - as Hants have been victims of such collapses all too often over the years.

Bit of a parnership building. Hope we can nip out 2 more wickets in the next 11 overs after tea and then it can rain all day tomorrow.

Having looked at the weather forecast for tomorrow its looks like there will be a fair amount of play which will be concerning if Derby get a decent lead and we lose early wickets.

I'd rather play tomorrow and give our batsmen some more time in the middle

bit surprised we haven't gone back to Abbott and Tommo after tea, I said earlier they should of NEVER started this afternoon.

Ervine and Coles look toothless, 4.3 overs to get 2 wickets, not going to happen..Derby may get the 29 runs they need though.

Why are they on, no wickets between them?

This partnership is looking decidedly worrying.

Looks like Maxwell is currently at it again.

If he brings this form to the Rose Bowl...
