Barring Wheaters injury and Mr Gattings likely inclusion in the next game an excellent few days work.

We are top of the league I said we are top of the league.

Good to see Carbs back scoring runs and playing like himself again.

Great win & superb batting by Carbs & Vince. My faith wavered on the first day (Adams must have had some doubtful moments as well!) but we pulled it round & although Glos' tail wagged a few times, it didn't on Monday morning!
A bit of luck when Carbs was dropped before his 50 but what a way to get a ton! :clap

Indeed. We've got to accept that Gloucestershire are a professional team. It would have been very unlikely that everything would have gone our way. They put up a decent fight on day one, caused us to have a mini batting collapse on day two, and wagged their tail very well on day three.

But overall, we still dominated the match and took maximum points. One five-fer, two centuries, two half centuries, and a consistently high scoring rate. Can't ask for much more.

just need to continue to take those 20 wickets.

As Brendy said, that is a good side we beat, ( although would of been stronger with Howell ), I wouldn't be surprised if they are up near the top in September

Carberry reached his 100 with two sixes but very nearly missed out on a ton after James Vince came in and smashed 58 off 36 balls.

With Hampshire needing just 12 to win, Carberry revealed the pair reached an agreement for Vince to slow down his scoring.

"He's come in before and blasted it around and left me short, so it was very nice of him to let me get my ton," said Carberry, whose century at Bristol came off 131 balls.

"He came down the wicket and said: 'If you want your ton, then I'll see it out and you can go for it.' I really appreciated it."

Bates in for the injured Wheater, as expected, is the only change to our 13 man squad.

As I've suggested previously, I firmly expect Briggs and Balcombe to once again be the two to miss out, unless conditions at Derby dictate otherwise.

Michael Carberry has only played 1 FC game against Derby in his career, which was televised 2 years ago, ( he scored 1 and 9 )

Thought that was an interesting stat.

11.30 start. Bates replaces Wheater in our only change. Derby (like Worcs) are the fortunate ones to win the toss and be able to bowl first in what must surely be very bowler friendly conditions.

Adams has come into this match 48 runs away from 10,000 career FC runs.

31/0 off 11 overs, Carbs 23*, Jimmy 3*

I did read somewhere that Peter Moores is a Carbs fan, so some runs could see him retain his England spot.

Well he saw first hand, as Lancs coach, Carbs' one-day 150* and t20 100* last season.

The 150* in particular was a limited overs knock of the highest quality. Shame that we reached the target when we did, as he'd have easily gone on to make it a double had he been able to go on.
