Very enjoyable season, Hants on the whole have played some very good stuff. Hope we can make a fist of it in the first division next season, one or two additions required especially in the bowling department.

Balcombe, Braithwaite and Bates are all out of contract.

Luckily not everyone beginning with B is going, we can keep Briggs.

Took 87.1 overs to take their 20 wickets.

I suppose they're all going - followed by Gatting a year later?

Wondering what our bowling lineup will look like next season.

Tomlinson
Wood / Adams
Coles / Adams
Briggs / Adams

(+Ervine)
(+Dawson although he'd be the one to drop out if we got an overseas batsman presumably?)

Do we not think that would stand up in D1? Every player there has averaged under 30 this season with Wood at about 16.

Not a clue which Adams would come in for.

No matter how much I like Tahir being here, if we did consider bringing him back next season (not a clue on SA schedule?), I think it's time we gave Briggs a season as our first spinner in CC. Done well enough in the latter end of this season and probably deserves and could do with a bit more of a go.

Brilliant. Top performance. It's a formula that works for us, not enforcing the follow on. Whether it will work against better batting line-ups in division one, I don't know. But division two batting line-ups generally just fall away fourth innings.

I know it's easy to say after the event, but I never really had any doubts about promotion all season. And the moment Essex bowled Worcs out for 84 two days ago, the title was always going to be ours.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

I would tend to agree, I would rather we had Kyle Abbott back again next season or someone of similar calibre.
