I'm already concerned at 3 boundaries in the first 3 overs, always assuming they weren't edges. Suggest a nice surface with the ball coming onto the bat.

Love the Green stat Century! You right about Carb, but his stats weren't great last year either in the cc. Interestingly Geoff Boycott is still advocating him instead of Robson - likes his technique against the new ball.

Carbs missed a couple of games and has a higher average than Jimmy this season, not sure why he gets singled out.

This is probably the last game of the season where there's little chance of something being set up.

As great as a win would be for us today, we are hardly in a must-win position. Given our 8 point (effectively 8.5 points) advantage over Surrey, a high bonus point draw could yet prove to be very useful for us. I'm not sure we'd want to risk throwing that away, should it come to it.

And on the other side of the coin, there's no reason for Leicester to just bend over and offer something which favours us. Yes they would no doubt wish to finally win a game, but ultimately they would hold more of the cards than us were it to come to the two sides trying to thrash something out.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

Jason Roy has been named in the England t20 squad for the game against India. Unfortunately said game is a week today, and the next round of Championship matches (which Surrey are part of) doesn't start until a week on Tuesday. So he won't be missing for Surrey.

That's a relief - it's not warm enough for streaking!

Yes, BBJ Boycott has been putting forward the case for Carbs regularly this season on TMS - but just as when Botham years ago had no idea who Richard Johnson (he had got all 10 wickets in a CC innings!) was when his name was suggested for England, I'm not convinced that these 'experts' really follow the county game in the way that Kevin Howells (?) and Pat Murphy on Radio 5 do.

Yes, Carbs does get singled out but he seems to have very poor runs of form at the most unfortunate times - he is being suggested for international selection unlike Jimmy and many others - so he is under the microscope more. Also his innings (plural) of real quality set him up for a fall/knock more than those of less inspirational players. Certainly supporters of Taylor must feel pretty sick at his continued non-selection.

Leics mainly dealing in boundaries, half century reached in next to no time.

And they can continue to do so if it means them giving their wickets away. Three down within the first hour.

One more wicket before lunch, and we can arguably start to think about bowling them out before Tea, and that despite them rocking along at around 4 per over.
