Same squad as the Kent game for Sunday. Akram presumably remains 12th man.

Wonder if it needs tweaking a bit as we seem to have lost our mojo.

Hopefully old hands such as Jimmy, Carbs & Slug will lead the way over the finishing line with 3 games to go. Need at least 2 wins?

"lost our mojo", we dominated the last game.

Leicester haven't won all season, so we should be winning tomorrow.

Big four days for Coles and Briggs I'd suggest. Obviously it will partly depend on what pitches we're presented with for our final two games, but I'd suggest it's a shoot-out between those two to keep their place when Tahir comes in.

That clearly implies that you think we might need to win all three.

We're eight points ahead of Surrey, who only have two games left. It's practically impossible that they could finish above us if we only win two of our final three. We'd also have more wins than them, so an eight point gap is actually more an eight and a half point gap.

And ok there is also Essex (same number of games as us) and Kent (game in hand on us), but we're a full 20 points ahead of Essex (almost one whole game's worth of points) and a massive 41 points ahead of Kent (almost a whole two game's worth of points).

The question is therefore whether or not ONE more win for us will be enough, not whether or not two more wins will be.

More thinking out loud - at the end of a season teams can experiment with line-ups with nothing to play for or looking ahead to 2015, the weather is likely to play a part in the Tahir games, odd results often occur at the end of a season but one win should do it - other results will be especially important if we win only one game & if we mess up against Leics then who knows how the table will look!
As for losing their mojo I was thinking about the T20 & the disastrous 50 over campaign which has been most of the recent cricket. It's obviously on White's mind as well as he has said that Hants have to move on from last Saturday when the team was not greatly different from the CC team.

Good thing with our 3 fixtures against teams with nothing to play for, is there is always the opportunity to set something up if needed.

Not sure what date the 50 over final is, but its possibly a few days after we play Kent, so they may rest a few, i.e Stevens ( IF they win their semi )

Shouldn't come to that though, Surrey slipping up has filled me with confidence, Leicester haven't won all season.

Not only have Leicestershire not won a cc game this year, but they didn't win one last year either. However, before we all start getting too carried away, I think their last win, at the end of the previous season was against us.
We've all supported Hants for long enough to know how this works........

That would of been the game that Wood scored a ton and Balcs scored 70 odd, and they still beat us by 100+ runs, would of been miles worse without them.

Just arrived at the ground. Come on Hampshireeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
If Leics are 80-1 at lunchtime, as the film advert said, "Be afraid, be very afraid!"

Not great considering tomorrow is probably going to be the worst day for batting.
Lets hope we can make some early inroads with the new ball and maybe get to bat sometime during the third session.

If we're serious about promotion I think we need to have them at least 3/4 down by lunchtime.

Definitely! Which wicket partnership will hold us up for at least a session though? As BBJ said this is Hampshire!
If Bournemouth can get a point at Norwich (amazingly their 9th consecutive visit there without losing although their first league meeting for 54 years!), then Leics can spring a surprise. There are always a few shocks at the end of the season - teams lose undefeated CC records, some unknown player gets 6+ wickets or a very fast ton but never repeats the feat, teams blood unknown players - Hants did this with 2 bowlers in the 90's (?) and Graham Hick absolutely took us to the cleaners!
The Cricket Paper reports that 3 of the top 4 runscorers in CC2 are Hants players! Hopefully Smith & Jimmy can join Vince on 1000 runs but Adams may create an unusual record by managing to do it without getting a ton! Once a Glos player (Green?) got 2000 runs without a ton!
Noticeable that Carbs is not up there at all - this may be the end of his international career - he never seemed to get a proper chance in limited overs cricket.

If they do get any sizeable partnerships going, can you walk behind the bolwers arm at an inopportune moment, or as a last resort streak onto the pitch and leapfrog the stumps, that should put them off.
