I'd rather not see our SF reduced to some sort of 8 over aside thrash. All or nothing please. But then again, it would limit what damage Buttler could potentially do.

Furthermore, from a selfish perspective, I'll be at St Mary's during our SF, so a washed out SF followed by a washed out final would suit me down to the ground!

Kabir returned to Lancs' team today, following injury, so he should be fine to line up against us on Saturday.

Wait, Lancs are taking a SEVENTEEN man squad with them for Saturday?

How many matches do they think they might be playing?!

Flintoff is one if the 17, by the way.

Imagine if Junaid Khan was still here, a potential bowling lineup of :

Khan
Anderson
Flintoff
Ali
Parry

No matter how unfit the players are, I would still hate to come up against a bowling line up like that!

the accuweather website suggests a light shower between 6 & 7 , I guess its going to be a bit like Cardiff was in 2012 , peeing down in parts of Cardiff bone dry in others.

Still if it does it'll give Jesters a chance to find me for his beer :hic

Yes-I believe it was on Matt Coles recommendation. Has Paul Farbrace got friends or influence at Hants?

Yes. He played for us when we played Sri Lanka A just over a week ago.

Thank you.

Whilst it is our fifth Finals Day in a row, it is arguably the one where we least deserve to win it. Even in 2010, when we also had a dodgy group stage and were lucky to get through in the end, we at least finished that group stage fairly strongly (a bit like Warks this season) and then powered our way through.

Somerset, Glamorgan and even Middlesex all came to our place this season and won, whilst Gloucs and Sussex were both exceptionally close to taking the points away with them. And yet out of those five, only Glamorgan were good enough to qualify for the QFs.

Eight overs of spin went for 2-56.

Twelve overs of seam went for 2-137.

Promising signs that for us, although obviously four overs from Dernbach within those seam overs does distort things somewhat.
