Chris Wood.

Putting your Wood feelings to one-side, that would still leave us a seamer light.

We could have Dale Steyn available, but if he came in for Wood we will still be a seamer light. We're being forced to bowl Coles and Briggs in the powerplay, which is a total waste given how superb they are outside of the powerplay.

Probably going to lose Coles to England now though, with the game being televised

You can get around that, with Vince and Slug being bowled at the right times. i.e overs 7-12

3 for Rimmington, and Daws/Smith operating at the over during the powerplay.

In fairness, it is probably an argument for one game only, the QF. That's on the assumption that Maxwell does indeed miss Finals Day.

We could always play Smith as a WK, and play an extra seamer...but then we lose Smiths bowling, which causes as many problems as it solves.

Slightly different outcome this to when we promoted Tahir here a few years back.

Scarily long batting line-up when you have Dawson at 9 though.

Agreed.

But every time we've decided to leave a batsman out, we've collapsed in the powerplay and missed the extra batsman.

Well done lads. We've done our part of the equation. Now to hope that Surrey implode, or the rain hits them.

But even if we do finish 3rd (which we surely will), the most important thing is that we've finished the group with back-to-back victories. Badly needed to get our confidence back, and I think we have.

Assuming Notts and Surrey both don't blow it from here, we're looking at an away trip to Trent Bridge - scene still of the best ever t20 innings I have ever seen from a Hampshire player.

But if Notts blow it, we're probably looking at an away tie to Worcs or Yorks. Or if Surrey blow it, we're probably looking at a home tie to Worcs or Yorks. Or if they both blow it, we're looking at a home tie to any of Notts, Worcs or Yorks.
