is it ever?

I don't watch it, but the scoring for the FL doesn't suggest that it's any different to T20. It just loses a lot of cricket terms so as not to baffle the audience who got in for free

Dewald Brevis has just hit 162 off 57 balls in the SA T20, featuring 13 fours and 13 sixes

Okay, it was against a load of old rubbish, but it probably challenges for the biggest individual T20 score

the reply is fast... very fast, so maybe it's being played on a 5 a side football pitch

1,500 m altitude... which probably has the effect of making the pitch like a 5-a-side ground

There is an investigation going on at the ECB atm, seemingly. It is expected to find that the Hundred has cost far, far more than the ECB have admitted to. Costs appear to been moved and shuffled around between ECB departments to make it hard to keep track of and help make it look as though the figures added up in terms of the hundred being a money spinner, whereas in reality it is just leaking money in every direction.

There seems to now be a bit of an acceptance that nobody in the world will want to emulate the format, that the ECB have stuffed up again and let everything slip through their fingers, and that in time the Hundred itself will end up being just another franchise domestic T20 tournament which the ECB unnecessarily blew everything they had and then some more on

I was listening to a podcast yesterday with Harmy and Dobell

there is something to come regarding Yorkshire and their punishment. It's been delayed, but is coming soon and it's expected that it will involve a sizeable points deduction. As Dobell points out... one county (Durham) got a 10 point deduction for a player having the wrong sized bat, so if that's a guide, then Yorks perhaps ought to be bracing themselves for a massive points deduction... the sort of deduction that would stop them getting promoted this season even of they perform very well

me...... I'm half expecting that they'll get a paltry points deduction, because it's Yorkshire and they do have clout as a county

I guess we'll see

My guess is the parties that stood to gain personally by its success, won't lose a farthing by its failure.

capitalism in action

they'll give Durham a points deduction to cover up their own failings

another rat flees the sinking ship

my personal favourite line in the article..............
"There's no doubt that The Hundred has been a success, helping cricket reach new audiences, bringing in important revenue and propelling the game forwards.

probably with bags of cash stuffed down his trouser legs...... if they add that to the 58 million quid they've already lost, there's a chance nobody will notice

Interesting score for Sussex in a T20 warmup against Middlesex. 324/7! 144 for Ravi Bopara with 14 4's and 12 6's.
