I wonder if this is backdated, because I have a unused ticket stub for Day 5 of the 2009 4th Ashes test which i've never received a refund, credit note or exchange.

Peter Willey & George Sharp must have either lost their 'enforced retirement' action against the ECB or the case has yet to be settled-both are missing from next years umpire list. Interesting name on the reserve list-Ian Blackwell.

I think I heard Sharp & Willey were unsuccessful getting the ruling overturned.

I noticed Blackie's name there. Funnily enough I was just wondering how he was progressing only this morning.

Any bowler who likes to get close to the stumps in delivery is going to find it difficult and be prepared for longer than usual tea intervals.

Cricinfo reporting that Kieswetter is taking a year out. Bit odd since he came back and played LVCC last year after his injury.

The wording in cricinfo was a bit strange, it surely must be an enforced year out rather than a choice. All sounds rather ominous for him-if he's unlikely to play at all next season there must be considerable doubt if his eyesight will ever recover enough for him to return. Hopefully though he will get things sorted and make a complete recovery.

Just had a horrible thought that the ECB may have offered them pitch inspection roles as appeasement.

ECB/YCB/Yorkshire CCC looking into redeveloping the old Bradford Park Avenue cricket ground. Mainly for community use to boost grass roots numbers, but with a view of disabled, womens, academy and 2nd xi cricket being based there. If the ground reaches First Class standard, then County Cricket could be played there in 2019 during the World Cup.

http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/s ... ue_ground/

The Park Avenue ground was very recently rented out to a club cricket side, but became too costly to maintain. It's nice to see a former FIrst Class ground that can be revived in some way and not be let further to rot.

real shame for Kieswetter, however if he is having trouble with his vision, then cricket comes second and he needs to get this problem sorted out
