Boycott isn't a candidate. His history of violence against women is enough to scupper that, never mind being accused of lying by the judge. Then he not only toured apartheid SA on a rebel tour, he acted as an agent for them, going around the dressing room encouraging others to sign. He ended his international career by walking away from the team on the day of a game, without word. Personal opinion: in his present role at TMS, he has been a bullying blowhard with little self awareness and few social skills. He doesn't even live in Yorkshire.

I'd have him ahead of William Hague though.

I personally don't think he hit that woman. Boycs can be many things but a woman-beater doesn't sit right somehow.

Unless she quoted his test runs and got the wrong figure.

Probably an axe as well.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Big fuss over nothing. When Dave said William Hague is "our greatest living Yorkshireman", he was referring to the Conservative Party.

As for the greatest living Yorkshireman, Bob Appleyard gets my vote.

Probably some person we've never heard of who runs a charity or works in a hospice.

Surely it should be greatest living Yorkshire person?

John Hurt is an actor. He can pretend to be from Yorkshire like nobody's business. I nominate him. Even though he's from, er, Shirebrook, Derbyshire.

I had a pint there once. And went down the pit.
