Obviously hearty farewell to Ian Bell. A player who had such great potential, he will always be judged on not living up to that rather than what he was able to achieve. Always seemed like a very decent guy too, which was a rarity in his era of idiots in the team.

He seemed more like someone you didn't get to know. Maybe because he wasn't very natural in front of a mic so his opinions weren't sought.

Notts, eh!

so that's why Brett Hutton wouldn't sign a contract extension. I rather get the impression that Northants knew nothing about this

Wonder if they'd care to re-sign Coggers as well?

Taxi for Jim Troughton.
Ridiculous the size of these coaching staffs.

Bit harsh to sack someone after such an untypical season.

Sometime Australia opener Marcus Harris, and "hot young prospect" Will Pucovski have broken the all-time record partnership in the Sheffield Shield on the weekend.

Not just a partnership of 486 - to break the Waugh Twins' 464* previous record set 30 years ago - but an opening partnership. The bloke on the radio was saying, around the time the partnership started, how South Aus have been unable to bowl any team out so far this season, but I am sure that he wasn't expecting this...
Maybe
