They did plead guilty mind. Some of the statements make it look like there is an issue that they are aware about. Seems odd.

first rule of the ECB is to throw the book at anyone daft enough to admit to a trangression, so it's always best to deny, deny, deny, keep silent about, and then deny a bit more. That way the ECB are not forced to take action, so you never get held to account, and simultaneously increases the possibility of getting a highly lucrative 15 year staging agreement, that earns so much money that you can afford to break bend every rule in the book, and go back to deny, deny, deny, keep silent about, and then deny a bit more, all over again.

I know of a few who have followed that course of action. It works.

This feels like that thing county fans do of choosing one other signing from another county. In limited overs terms at least. Though maybe Gidman felt the same for Notts. There's not really a Div2 step up going on, because that doesn't exist in limited overs.

Not sure he'll get in Yorkshire's CC team, under normal circumstances. I wonder if he'll get in Will Rhodes' way.

Just read on cricinfo that Rhodes was born in Nottingham, and educated in Cottingham. Cottingham is where I grew up.

Yes educated at Cottingham HS,near Hull. Many a fine cricketer has come from Hull.
