Lancashire have being doing that for years before Moores was on the scene. In 2006 and 2007 with them needing a result, we were sent out to Airburgh CC or whatever the ground was called in Liverpool. Those were guaranteed result wickets, but in 2007 I think it backfired because Muzzler played a blinding match (about 150 runs between both innings, which was a lot in those conditions) and we bowled out Lancs in the 4th innings for a 100 to essentially win the championship.
In 2003 they were going to move the last game of the season to somewhere more result guaranteed (annoying for an away fan) until Sussex won with a game to spare, so Lancs kept the game at OT.
What a party that was.... watching Sussex get smashed in Manchester by an innings, like anyone cared
