Not going to be supported by Bresnan this time. Another ton looks on.

Dunno, I thought Bairstow was definitively found out in Test. But he did play in harder games than Buttler, often with little practice. But Buttler looks a better bat to me. Not much in the keeping.

Hundred for Bairstow in a score of 203 all out and now Sidebottom with two wickets in the first over!

I agree.

He proved against even poor spin bowling that he was weak in tests, and quick paceman really shook him up. Against Aussies attack this summer he would have a lot to prove about his techinque moving forward, we knew all along medium fast county bowlers pose him little problems, that extra pace in test quicks has done for him.

His form is maybe worthy of a case for a replacement position in the current setup, but not sure his returns will improve a lot unless his technique has also had work done to it

If a side is happy to send a nightwatchman in after just one ball, why are they not happy to send him after zero balls? It never ceases to amaze me how often a nightwatchman comes in during the first two overs of an innings. Just open with him!

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

Rain in Birmingham. I'd tak a draw from here though. I fear the loss of Rashid will harm Yorkshire's title challenge. If Bairstow gets called up, it's curtains.

Even for village cricket standards that is ridiculously green, looks like Leicestershire have reseeded their square.

Jack Brooks takes the 7th wicket and it's Trott. Last 4 have gone with the score on 35.

Warwickshire 44/9, Rikki Clarke starting to swing his bat with gay abandon in an attempt to avoid the follow on.
