These two and Tommo can all hold a bat, and 36 off 19 overs is hardly a massive required run rate. The pitch is also apparently on the flat side, as I would expect.

I'd have been annoyed had we declared.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

Fair enough, but with a non-great weather forecast for days 3 and 4 ( according to James and Mullally ) and seeing Kent 27/6 after 12 overs, makes you wonder what can happen when you use a new ball well.

321-8

I'd suggest that we've shaded the day, but it one of those scores that you can't quite judge if it's good or not until both sides have batted. Nothing wrong with the run rate, but potentially there might be something wrong with the number of wickets lost.

If we were say, only four down, we'd still just about be on course for maximum batting points. As it is, it's all about trying to get that fourth point.

Yep a fair day for us considering our weakened batting lineup.

First hour tomorrow will be about trying to get the fourth batting. Briggs as the forgotten man in CC will be wanting to show his worth with bat as well as ball.

I'm not unhappy, wouldn't of minded being closer to 350 so we could have a quick dash in the morning, or being bowled out/declaring just after the 300.

Whilst we only need 2 an over for 14 overs to get max batting points, I hope they do bat with intent.

Having just seen the highlights of yesterdays play, I don't think Gatting was out, looked like the ball hit his wrist rather than bat/glove.

For a minute I thought he had his fellow countryman but then remembered he's with Surrey this season.
