With Middx sweeping aside Notts, this is a must win game for Yorks against Durham. Unusually good start from the top order. A bit disappointing Rashid isn't available for Yorks. Plunkett and Willey arguably wouldn't get in on merit. Have to forget about Bairstow being a Yorks player for the next few years.

3 an over in the context of what's already happened today seems reasonable to me.

Gale out, but growing not to really expect much. Typically a good start can begin to put pressure on Bresnan's elevated spot at six with the captain in such entrenched bad form. Especially when Leaning was in the side.

The first wicket went at 31 in 5.4 overs. Trott's arrival has seen a big drop in R/R and since I posted Westwood hit two boundaries to make it look good.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Bell out C&b first ball. Somerset's 95 looking good now. Double pathetic.

Perter 'data' Moores has been appointed head coach at Notts. A bit odd as he's been a 'coaching consultant' there while they've struggled in four day cricket.

A 19 year old off spin bowler in his debut game has on a day one pitch made seasoned and international batsmen look stupid. An Aussie batsman would have dispatched him 4 times in a row over the long leg boundary and he would have been consigned to field at long leg for a few hours.

Warks currently 72/5 being right is not much fun. :facepalm

Have they produced another shocking pitch at Taunton? If so Somerset might be in trouble because even their own captain admitted the pitch against Durham was not satisfactory.

Alex Lees surpasses the 1000 run milestone :clap

Hope the ECB don't notice, they might order Yorkshire to rest Lees for the remaining CC matches against Somerset and Middlesex.

I think in the morning the quick bowlers moved the ball easily and now it's atrocious batting from a batting line up devoid of confidence.

Warwickshire top order batsmen are resting in the Somerset pavilion without being ordered, they just felt like it.
