Just spoken to my mate. He actually played against McManus today as it happened (in the Southern Premier League). McManus scored 60 odd.

Won the toss again. Have chosen to bat. If the weather in Leicester is anything like it is here, it should be a glorious batting day.

Briggs and Wheater in for Carberry and Dawson.

I see Sarwan is finally fit and plays today.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

As I thought then, I presume Smith will open with Wheater at 5.

2 an over for 15 overs isn't ideal after choosing to bat

It's a lot more ideal than losing a couple of wickets- priority pre - lunch on 1st day is not losing wickets imo.

I do agree, it wasnt a big criticism, especially with 2 guys that like to play themselves in.

59/0 after 22 and no extras, thats rare.

We need to score over 4 an over for 83 overs if we want max batting points.

66/0 after 27, Smith 32* ( 82 ) Adams 34* ( 80 )

The left/right combo is nice, but would be better if they took more singles to utilize it.

If we keep wickets in tact with shine off the new ball and the morning dampness burnt off we could well enhance our strike rate although it has increased in recent overs.

You were right, Adams gone for 40.

79/2 at lunch, Gatting 1*

Unless we get a big innings from Vince, I'm not sure this is a game we should be hoping for maximum bonus points in.

Given no Carberry and no Dawson, for me this was always just an innings about putting something half decent on the scoreboard, regardless of the run rate.
