Was bound to be a big stand at some stage. Just have to hope the break disrupts their conversation. Still in an excellent position but obviously the sooner this stand ends the better.

disappointing session. Another couple of wickets would have put us in full control, so this pair read the situation well, by the looks of things.

still.... they have to re-start in the morning, with a new ball due 12 overs later, so hopefully we can take full advantage. Shame we didn't have Stokesy available to give these two a good working over

Yes, he would have been ideal. Has Borthwick got an injury that's stopping him bowling?.If not he seems to have given it up because there have been occasions this season- that last session today being one - where he should have had a spell.

He needs a good second half of the season with the bat otherwise I think the answer to both questions is no.
If the results so far hadn't been pretty decent his place would surely be under scrutiny.

Wrong again! 6 wickets in the session ( extra half hour taken) and a lead of 248. I wouldn't entertain any thoughts of enforcing the follow-on...although commentators did mention Warwickshire not doing so when thru had the chance and ended up losing! Sounded though if was an exceptional circumstance because they had injured bowlers so batted to try and give them time to recover only to be bowled out in double quick time.

just checked the scorecard. A very good session. Big lead, plenty of time in the game. Right decision to bat again, I think. Last time there we were skittled out in about a session and a half on day 4.

Borthwick needs a score..... he got a ton in very trying conditions in that same match in 2021, so he needs to try and channel that

Not sure but the run rate is low - not sure of that's the pitch or because of the 2 quick wickets- maybe both.
