Probably would have preferred a draw, but a Somerset win will probably mean 2 from 3 to go down. Although still a fair part of the season to go.

Notts 98-7, 60 odd ahead, squeeky bum time for Notts. Something seriously wrong at TB.

Yes, they have - on paper - a very strong side but something is preventing them living up to their potential.

Yet Notts are probably the strongest CC1 T20 side. Which highlights how much T20 success seems to be gained at the expense of first class results. Or at least isn't an indicator of CC1 quality...

3 of the 4 leading teams in the T20 groups are CC2, and 3 of the 4 teams at the bottom are CC1.

Yorks have their A attack back for the visit of Warks to Leeds: Sidebottom, Brooks, Bresnan, Patterson and Rashid. This is Yorks first CC1 game for three plus weeks, since the disappointing draw with Surrey.

Sidebottom in for Willey
Brooks in for Plunkett
Head in for Rafiq.

Both sides need the win to stay in the race for the championship.

Raining!

At least Yorks are one on the few teams not to have lost a wicket in the first over this morning.

England need to call Mark Wood up for strength and conditioning, otherwise he's going to ruin the run in the the CC. ;)

Yorks top order in trouble again.

Either this is a result wicket at Headingley where 300 is a good total or Yorkshire have made a mistake in electing to bat.

When Yorkshire and Durham can field their full strength attacks they do look very strong. But how much longer can Yorkshire carry their non scoring skipper?

Yorkshire's top 6 have underperformed overall, only Leaning and Hodd has scored less than Gale but Leaning has found some good form in white ball cricket. If he can translate that form into red ball cricket in the next two games combined with Ballance returning from England duty, it's going to be difficult for Gale to justify his place in the team.

Pinning my hopes on Bairstow not getting selected in the England ODI squad to boost Yorkshire's chances of defending the County Championship.

Surely there should be a place for Plunkett who I've always rated as a batsman. He's far more than a big hitting tailender. In fact in his youth he was solely a batsman.

Clearly Warks day, but at least Yorks fought it out.

That 9th wicket stand could cost Warks dear when our arch enemy Sidebottom gets going tomorrow. He is to Warwickshire what Barker is to Durham. He's like a 'Dracula figure' who only comes out when Warwickshire are around.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Bell is out. Warks have a dangerous lower order though. 40-4 is already 66-4.

All out 179. Yorkshire well in control 120 ahead with 10 wickets left.

Another collapse late in the day brings the game about level. Down to Lees and Bresnan.
