Sometimes you have to give credit where its due, Wallace batted well, just as the sun came out and the pitch started to flatten.

I would do but fifty plus run last wicket partnerships are always galling in any conditions.

Almost a perfect day's cricket - apart from an irksome last wicket stand by Glamorgan.
Will tomorrow bring double figures or a double ton by Gatting?

Yep. It's not like the number 11 smashed us around the park. He only scored 17, that is it.

Wallace was at the other end; an actual batsman. It doesn't matter if we had them one down or nine down, a batsman is still entitled to score runs.

And yes, our subsequent batting display adds to the theory that the pitch started to flatten out. Adams might not have taken advantage of it, but Wallace, Carberry and Dawson all did.

We're in total control of this game now, just one day in. Weather permitting, I'd like it to stay that way. Ideally with us picking up maximum batting points and only needing to bat once.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

I think double figures will be the best we can hope for although I'd wager it will be a lot closer to 10 than to 200.

Looks like Carberry getting bogged down led to his wicket.

We re-start at 2pm with 6 overs lost

Could do with these 2 advancing the scoring a bit, would be a shame to only take a draw from a great position.

Also would like to get to 400 before the allotted overs run out. If Vince stays in for 30 overs it shouldn't be a problem.

Slow progress at the moment, 400 looking unlikely.
