Obviously you know Bates,Gatting,Briggs,Brathwaite and Balcombe

Alsop is a WK, Taylor is the young spinner that debuted last season, Barber is a left-armed seaming all-rounder, McManus is a batsman

King,West and Hose I am unsure on.

I assume it's Adam Hose who is a batsman and Matt King who is a right arm quick.

Very disappointed that Dawson isn't named

Apart from useful (& needed?) batting practice & a chance for some competitive bowling, the chance of captaining a Hampshire team would be of valuable experience for the future.

Isn't it typical, the week we don't have a proper game, and the weather is gorgeous.

I feel really disconnected with this Hants team - when was the last FC match (or even a Uni match such as the Cardiff one some years ago when we won by about 600 runs but it wasn't FC) that so many players were making their debuts for Hants?
Has McManus made a ton on his FC debut?
The Hants handbook has not been of much help for most of these players!

The 2014 Hampshire Handbook clearly calls it a 3 day FIRST CLASS FRIENDLY but the 2014 Playfair Cricket Annual simply calls it a "Uni" match! However, ALL the Uni matches have that description whereas in previous years it used to state whether a match was a FC one or simply a Friendly. So rather confusing when the fixture lists in different publications don't agree! Teletext is giving the score but it didn't used to give the score of Uni matches if they weeren't FC!

I think they lost their first class status recently, also its played on the nursery ground which isnt able to host FC games ( I think )

69/3, all 3 for Balcs.

Hmmm, Cardiff MCCU have played against Gloucester and Glamorgan already this season and both were FC games.

I guess it being played on the Nursery Ground is what prevents it being FC.
