Three scores in row over 40 now for Carbs. Potentially two of them could be 100s. Good to see him scoring early season runs this season, unlike last. I wonder if his desire to try and hold onto his test place has something to do with it, or if it's simply a case of him continuing him excellent form for us from the back end of last season.

And congrats to Jimmy.

A great achievement. :clap Well batted Jimmy.

Superb achievement by Adams who took some years to establish himself. :salute  :clap

How many counties have both openers who have each scored 10000 FC runs?

As it's been raining non-stop for at least 3 hours in Dorset it looks like I will have plenty of time to look up some cricket stats!

Hopefully the rain which seems to be spreading all over southern England won't extend to Derbyshire.

He was against L2 attacks last season and it took until game 14 or so before he got a ton.

Exactly as Powelly says. Carberry was up against them last year too. Didn't stop him having a shocking start to the season.

Different this year.

I think Will Smith needs a mention, batted 4 times now and done well in all 4 innings, took a wicket and took over wicketkeeper duties in Bristol ( hes an ex keeper ) looks a fantastic signing.

I think it makes a difference when you take a step up and has played in a real difficult Ashes series, to then come back down to a much lower level well feel much easier. A lot of batting is perception, and having proved he was able to stand up to the Aussie new ball attack and at least stay there a while, he must be profiting surely a little from the lesser intensity?

Obviously being part of the England setup also might have given him a boost mentally, shown him what he needs to achieve to get it back? Its nice to see a player fight for his position.

Long may he continue. If he knocks of a consistently good county year then surely he can force his way into the winter tours? Personally Id have picked him for the ODI team already.

It's a downside to the domestic one day comp being held in August this year. The players on the fringes of the ODI would generally be looking to make their case in domestic limited overs cricket. But by the time they've had the chance to do that this year, Moores might already have a reasonably settled ODI side.

At the very least, it won't be as easy to break into it as it would have been early doors this season, with domestic one day runs or wickets behind you.

Adam Wheater sustained a small fracture to his index finger while keeping during the second innings of the LV= County Championship match against Gloucestershire at Bristol.

He has been assessed and should return to cricket duties within 2-3 weeks.

Sean Terry unfortunately felt the full force of a quick ball from former Hampshire seamer Chris Tremlett late on Day 2 of the Second XI friendly against Surrey last week at Guildford.

The Second XI captain battled through the pain until the end of the days play but X-rays showed an elbow fracture which required him to take no further part in the fixture.

He has had further specialist assessment and will miss the next 6-8 weeks.
