That sounds ominous. Think he's in denial if he doesn't believe the batting needs to be strengthened. Of the players who he singled out only Bancroft and Lees are top 6 batsmen! Bancroft and Lees at the top and Eckersley at 7 are fine but the problem is what's in between!

I suppose you can argue that after the 1st 4 CC games, when the captain and coaches were still bedding in, that we showed promotion form for the remainder of the season. Logically, then,particularly if Bangers is available for the whole season, we should be strong candidates for promotion next season. The middle order, however, is still very inexperienced and there's absolutely no cover for injuries or loss of form.

Yep. Very threadbare squad. Only thing I think of is that some of those wins were from very unlikely positions almost always as a result of disastrous first innings batting displays if we could get even about 220 first knock it would, with our attack, probably be enough. Although the uncontested toss at CLS has to be at least a partial excuse for the low scores.
At the very least though we'll start next year with a more settled team - there was a case at the start of fhis season that Bancroft was the only batsmen sure of his place! Lees and Eckersley are certainties now.

How good of Poynter to end his international career! Not sure what they see in him but he's clearly rated by the coaches.

Popular with them apparently. He's a CC standard w/k so happy enough to have him as reserve.
No mention of Rimmington so presumably he's been released.
