I suppose the 8 points for a draw will have an effect on declaration decisions, as it will with the batting approach on day 4..... which is the point of increasing the reward for a draw, of course.

For all Rushy's pedigree, it's Salisbury who is looking the most likely to take a wicket atm.

5 maidens in 8 overs for Salisbury. He's mostly bowling to Tom Wood who is blocking everything pitching in front with the full face of the bat, but can't lay bat on ball for anything pitching just outside off. Keeps getting beaten all ends up. The one time Salisbury found the edge it flew through the slips for 4.

Wood's middle stump torn out by Ben Raine. He'd just lost his line and Wood had helped it round the corner for 4 to long leg, and then that! Jagged back..... could do with a few more doing that

Coughlin choosing to bowl over the wicket thought he'd found the edge off Reece, but it was just the bat hitting the ground

it says lbw Borthwick, but it looked more like a catch at short leg attempting the sweep. Depends whether he got bat on it or not, I suppose. Out either way

I think 2 wickets in that session represents the absolute minimum to chances of a win. But only taking 2 must mean the chances of a draw are higher than they were at 11am.
Plenty of time but we need 2 or 3 in quick succession. I suppose the new ball later could do the job but I think they'd need to be 6 or 7 down at least.

Madsen has just swept Borthwick and got a top edge that went straight up, but landed behind the cordon and ran away for 4 down to long stop. One of those days, I reckon

Nothing happening out there at all. Feels as though the late declaration was fully justified, because extra time in the game would have just helped Derby
