Finally we reach our first batting point.

Smith scored an unbeaten 150 in his last first class innings, and is now into the 70s, and batting like a man out of form.

Ervine looks like hes going to be aggressive, need to score at a run-a-ball for 23 overs to get to 350.

Smith out for 82, a run-a-ball 35ish from Wheater would be useful here

Smith succumbs to another lbw. Hopefully Wheater and Ervine can increase the run rate to get three batting points, four looks impossible. We may even ptevent Surrey from getting two bowling points.

Without taking into account the state of the pitch and our desire to avoid the follow on and securing a draw this has been a turgid innings. Three batting ppints currently looking very distant.

I want this game over now, I'm thoroughly bored with it. Haven't played like division two leaders at all. Will probably survive for a draw even it we don't avoid the follow on.
