And then a run a ball 50 partnership! 155 run lead. It'll be interesting to see what the approach will be in the morning- unless there's some sort of deal to set up a run chase ( unlikely) a win for us seems like the least possible result so I'd be trying to play it safe...have a feeling though they won't do that so it could be an interesting day!

we need about another 150 runs tomorrow and hope they can't knock off 300 runs in 50 overs

I think that'll be tough for us, given there'll be no new ball later, but at least Worcs would have to take risks to get them. It might open the door a crack, but after today's limited success with the ball I'm not fully convinced we have the attack to force that crack wide open. If Pollock gets going, 6 an over might feel like a derisory asking rate

still...... this is supposed to be the new ethos, so we'll see.

My worry is that Mr Campbell may be a little naive and inexperienced in making such calculations. Certainly if there is a run chase Kunhemann's credentials are going to be tested.

Yes, the way Borthwick and Bedingham have motored along makes me wonder if it's realistic to have both a stiff enough target and sufficient time to have a realistic chance of taking 10 wickets. Currently 260 ahead with 78 overs left.

Meanwhile on the commentary Trevaskis is wondering if we might declare earlier than planned!
We lost 2 wickets last night and yet Borthwick and Bedingham were able to shrug off the pressure and score at a run a ball - to me that suggests we need to err on the side of caution- but I'm sure we won't!

The batting is easy

112 runs in an hour

I share WL’s fears

Me too - Emmerson and Trevaskis are suggesting the quick scoring could allow an earlier declaration- but I think it should lead to a later one!

Not a lot for the bowlers, so even if we set them 350, and we might set less if Borthwick gets his hundred, then 6 an over is probably do-able

But 6 an over might lead to mistakes and let us in

Definitely

From what I’ve seen this morning, it might be possible to score 450 in two sessions

Worcs have 8 men on he rope for Borthwick. Just a shortish extra cover to keep the bowler company, so there are singles everywhere. Of course now that he’s in the nineties he can’t lay bat on ball

There’s his hundred. Feels like awhile since the last one. I’m guessing Chelmsford two years ago?

He’s played really well this morning
