I didn't expect anything else, its obviously not a bad track because Adams and Smith batted well on it, and these 2 are quality players, who Bates and the tail play him is the big question

The way things are going right now it may not help.
Without looking at Ervine's stats I'm thinking he hasn't had a great start to the season.

Nah, the pitch has been prepared especially for him, he's a world class test bowler of long standing and Briggs is a good defensive one day bowler. A class apart at the long form of the game.
