ha... Hannibal Raine and Kid Coughlin :D

:lmao
Unusually sensible batting fron those two so far.

Not anymore! :horse

Excellent from those bowling all-rounders. Contributions from all of them. Watched a bit of the stream and there definitely was a bit of uneven bounce. Commentators saying there might be some rain around in the morning.

Remarkable turnaround in batting performances this year - after years of catastrophic collapses we've now got the quality and depth to have Trevaskis and Potts at 9 and 10 even without Carse who Colly suggested could bat in the top 6.

or even a 150 run 9th wicket stand :D

I wasn't expecting that scoreline when I got back home this evening

Pretty poor forecast for all day tomorrow but they're no longer reliable so who knows.
Very mature performances by both Potts and Trevaskis confirming my belief that they have potential to be genuine all-rounders.
So what do we look for in our 2nd overseas next season?

Good question. It's tricky now, might not need one! I think I'd still look for an opener.

Given the amount of rain we have had already, and the overhead conditions, I really can't see there being any play today.

Correct-play abandoned for the day.

well that's a bit of a beggar. 2 days to try and close out another match and the weather has its say

did this not happen last time too? was it a total washout or something when we had to beat Northants to still be in with a promotion bid?

Martin Emmerson mentioned a game there where we needed to win to stay in the promotion hunt but ended up losing badly. I didn't catch which year but it must have either been 2019 or a long time ago! I remember the last game of 2019 ( against Glamorgan) being an almost total wash-out after day 1.

Lost heavily at N'hants in 2019 which is probably the game he was referring to. Today after a 3.15 inspection the official announcement was " it will take groundstaff at least an hour to get the ground fit so umpires have abandoned play for the day". Premature decision given there were still 44 overs to play. So wait an hour, when there'd still be 28 overs left in the day in what would have been bowler friendly conditions. Instead Northants have 96 overs to survive in what will be much improved batting conditions. Balance of the game significantly altered by unprofessional officials.

Good question. I don't know, he just seemed to disappear!
