It's the Riverside pattern nowadays. Life in the wicket 1st day then it flattens to road. As DF has preached for sometime,we need to invest in a quality spinner -finding one is the problem. Also to persist with Trevaskis.

Yes, totally flat wicket. Even when the 7th wicket finally fell I was pretty resigned to it going into the last day. Bedingham might even get the chance to reach 1000 runs but let's hope not!

Hard work by the looks of it

what we don't want is to exhaust the bowlers while these matches come thick and fast. There isn't an awful lot of recovery time between matches.

More good work from Jones

Yes, a shame he missed out on a hundred- I thought he was certain to get there which probably jinxed him!
I do like how Borthwick bowls and looks astonished that the delivery hasn't taken a wicket...there were a few times this afternoon when the batsman played a perfect defensive stroke with the ball connecting with the middle of the bat and Borthwick had his head in his hands. :lmao

The good thing with Borthwick and Trevaskis bowling is that the over rate isn't a problem.

Salter finally gone to Coughlin but I think 90 is a career best for him.

Yes, much stronger resistance than I was expecting. Very good backs to the wall performance.

Coughlin with the last wicket to cap off a very impressive comeback - if Carse is fit for the next game I wonder who he'll come in for?

On recent performance for Potts. Coggers appeared to be bowling at slightly reduced pace but far more consistent accuracy. Encouraging but one swallow... Trevaskis performance also encouraging bowling economically allowing seamers to rest.

Yes, Potts has been a bit wayward of late. In the heat Trevaskis was even more important- probably not a coincidence that the bowlers finished things off quickly after a night's rest. In the back of my mind there was a thought we might have to bat again.

Although I've just checked and he did score 100 for Cardiff MCCU against Sussex so it's a Championship best - assuming he hasn't scored 97-99 in a previous match!
