The batsman never got going, but I dont think we can fault the bowlers. It feels a bit like England failure in UAE first time up, bowlers making inroads against teams then the batters not making a dent. We would have stayed up, even challenged at the top, had our squad stayed fit. 9 players we had at one time on the injury list, two premature retirees to injury without playing a CC game (and one we just bloody signed!!!) and 8 bowlers.

We lost Shehzad.... Mills...Prior...Hobbo.... it was endless. Even the loanees we got in got injured.

I think to be honest the spicy pitches we prepared at the start of the season meant our batters never got in knick, and that was the death of us.

The main man for me is Joyce though, his captaincy has been very poor this season, and at 38 or 39 now and no longer seemingly capable of big scores, or away with Ireland more, Id look to save some wages and cut him. Harsh to say, but as a leader this year he set the tone.

Oli Robinson, Shehzad, Mago, Jordan..... in Division two, if these stay fit no one is scoring 200 against us.

Yorkshire have played some good cricket but they have had no opposition. Durham, Warwickshire and Notts have been well below par and they are the teams that normally offer some challenge. Apart from Yorkshire Div1 has seen some very sub standard cricket this year.

A lot to do with the pitches I think. I watched highlights of some games this year where the pitches were radioactive shades of green. With T20 and OD cricket hogging the drier summer months when pitches level out, you are seeing a lot of teams blown away on seamer friendly wickets, and not a lot of batters flourishing, unless you are from Somerset

Jason Roy is enjoying himself at the minute.

70* off 32 balls - 7 sixes.

The second division didn't have the same fizz of the first.

Not surprising though as just pride at stake in that division.

Might be a close contest next season though, with the heavyweights already in CC1.

All the test match grounds in Division One next season (not counting Glamorgan), no easy games for Yorkshire next year in their quest for three in a row.

I'm onto the fourth litre of beer..... We have been through the anger stage, I've vented to a room of people who don't care at all about teams and places that they have never heard of.

I'm at at defiante but reflective stage. The league doesn't lie, well played Yorkshire, they are too good at the moment. Well played hants too!!!

But get ready because we will be back in 2017

I completely agree with that

It has been a very poor season, full of very poor cricket (Yorkshire aside, who have been magnificent)

I wonder when the ECB will realise that having result matches with very few draws is meaningless if the standard of cricket is as poor as it seems to have been this year.
