I tend towards that view too, I always have, but I could see us dropping two from Salisbury, Campbell and Doneathy. Plus we might be tempted by the batting Carse brings us and Raine's usually miserly bowling

No more cricket for the best part of a couple of weeks, so it isn't as though we'll feel the need to rest anyone after an exhausting schedule of 5 ball rounders

Ideally we come to agreement with Glamorgan to stick to our original squads.

The article in the paper said that some teams were keen to have The 100 players back and some were going to stick with the group stage squads. It'll be interesting to see what happens - I think I'd also prefer it if both teams do agree to stick with the group players.

Not sure if it's significant but Carse and Potts weren't playing in The 100 last night but Raine was.
Pure speculation but I wonder if they have decided that Doneathy's performance means he gets in on merit with Carse and Potts drafted in for Salisbury and Campbell. It would have been even trickier if Van Meekeren was still here.
That's assuming the article I read was correct and they are available!

Glamorgan unchanged by the looks of it so we will be up against Weighell.

And/or a career best score . A couple of Surrey's players did it yesterday just for a change.

I see Bedingham has been called up by Birmingham Phoenix for The 100 final as replacement for a departing player.
Fortunately he is still available for us tomorrow. Someone at the ground told me Notts are after him too! Hopefully there's nothing in it - I'm sure he signed a contract with us on the understanding he would do what is necessary to qualify as non-overseas so it'd be a surprise if he goes.
Chances are though he will get a full time gig next year in The 100.

Potts and Raine- but not Carse - are in the squad.
Carse " unavailable" - question is why? Whether the returning 100 players should be playing is one thing but why not explain why he is unavailable.

Back up squad player for 3rd test?

A distinct possibility.

Probably offered quite a few quid to shake hands with some other players for a day or two and then sit on his @rse for a day

I'd have taken that deal if it was offered to me.

I'm just glad that England called up Malan in an attempt to solve their top order woes. Given that no-one has any recent red ball cricket under their belt, any call ups would have to be based on current white ball form and I feared that we might lose Lees again for the final 4 CC matches

I read an article about potential batting call ups and Lees didn't get a mention - odd because there can't be many openers with a better recent record.
