Oh dear! The dreaded nightclub altercation. He wasn't arrested so looks like a minor incident but it will not go down well with the ECB. Stokes and Potts are in some of the photos but apparently not involved in whatever occurred.

Story in The Times says he was detained but not arrested and then released without charge. Suppose that does not mean charges could be forthcoming, but - unless it turns out that he wasn't at fault in the altercation- he seems to have behaved poorly.

Bedders will miss the last 3 games of the season. He's had an early recall from CSA, despite them not playing a test until October.

Still.... he's around for the next 2 matches and hopefully promotion will be a formality by the time he departs

Youre right. It seems as if he was arrested and then de-arrested! The police were there dealing with something else and the altercation had something to wifh him not being allowed back into the club!

The problem with that is, how can they justify it?

They tried to cover up Brook smacking a bouncer, Duckett wasn't punished as were other examples, and Atkinson and Stokes were stood down for 1 game (which Carse has just been punished with).

If they throw the book at Carse when he wasn't on England duty, it opens them up for a law suit in the counter about fair treatment.

This is what you get when an idiot is running the shop, because if they had effectively nipped this in the bud, it wouldn't get to this stage.

Yes, it would be unfair to single him out but ECB are all over the place. They have - once again- dug themselves into a hole starting with that farcical Brook cover-up. Surely they must have known the truth was bound to come out?
