Northants make 251, and sneak a second bonus point. I still fancy Yorkshire for this. They surely can't bat as poorly again and Northants certainly can. The wicket is easing today according to the BBC commentary.

The Northants bowlers generally bowled well, apart from some legside rubbish from Chambers. Brooks' first two overs were poor but when he changed ends he bowled well. Bresnan was initially unthreatening but improved. Pattinson was unthreatening but tidy. Plunkett bowled dross. The real difference was the fielding. Northants missed nothing, Yorkshire dropped 2. It was a bowlers day, there was some movement and a little bit of inconsistent bounce but 17 wickets in a day was ridiculous.

Slightly. I was with my dad yesterday and he commented on how few regulars were there. Of course several were at Twickenham. There were plenty of visiting Yorkshire supporters which is unusual as I rarely come across many away supporters.

Yes that makes sense. I think that the only times I saw significant away crowds in D2 were when some of the powerhouse counties were being played but that was mainly through an increase in away support. I can't remember seeing much interest even when the Lions were playing WI.

It seems to be a batting day generally. Great effort here by the Yorks openers and the Durham top order. And more runs for Samit.

How dare Essex schedule a meeting during Panesars partying hours.

Only Mitchell has more in CC2.

Yorkshire 200 ahead with all 10 wickets standing. We should press on now and give ourselves 3 and a half to 4 sessions to bowl Northants out.
