Another wholly irrational decision by FTECB.

That 5pt penalty imposed on N'hants again illustrates the inconsistency of umpiring decisions. I'm sure it's not just at the Riverside that we see numerous instances of negative over rates going unpunished.

A ridiculous decision. Typically lacking in common sense.

Pretty poor start for Yorks, shipping 119 before lunch v Surrey so far, with Sanga yet to don his pads. K.Cadmore, Jack Brooks, Rafiq, Patterson are in for Lyth, Plunkett, Coad, Rashid

Lyth is on paternity leave. Can't see why Coad is out.

259-3 and Sanga has barely scratched the crease. Maybe it'll rain.

Ominous comment on cricinfo
"a difficult day in which off spinner Azeem Rafiq also hobbled off with a leg injury after bowling 20 fruitless overs at a cost of 74 runs. Rafiq, who did come back on just before the close but still looked in discomfort, made the odd ball turn quite sharply, too, which will not have improved Yorkshire's mood as they glance anxiously over their shoulder at the Division One relegation zone close behind them."
And with spinners bowling half the overs at Taunton suggests it's a result wicket there.

Maybe Shaun Marsh can dig something out. He's scored runs v the spinners for Australia.
