That was a remarkable finish. Sensational performance from Stokes. And an unusually stress free performance, we were on top throughout and cruised to victory.
I worried that we might be rusty after the red ball break but it was probably the most dominant performance of the season.

The match might start tomorrow, before the predicted deluge begins. That will last for about 24 hours, so they’ll need to make sure the covers and the tarps are securely fastened down or there’ll be no play on Sat or Sun either after most of the weather has passed. Against Gloucester that would be a shame because we don’t often get to see them up here

13/3 to 95/5 at lunch. Need to get this innings wrapped up quickly. Can't imagine the conditions will improve throughout the day so we'll probably find it difficult- that's assuming we are batting at some point today! If we're not that might already mean a draw is on the cards given the forecast.

95-5. Rain might hold off until tea, but once it starts, it seems set to rain for 24 hours, so tomorrow might be a wash out. Vic needs to keep those covers firmly battened down, with no gaps for the rain to seep under which has happened more than once over the last year. I remember last season where we had a shed load of rain prior to a CC game, followed by no play whatsoever over the 4 days, despite lots and lots of sunshine, because the rain got under the covers and soaked the pitch. Then there was the wind debacle v Kent at the start of this season. If it was up to me I'd have Vic and his staff pulling an all-nighter tonight. If we had to take a draw against one of the two worst teams in the CC this year because of a cover issue, I'd be most unhappy

Campo has said he will continue to pick Carse until told otherwise

Presumably he didn't watch him bowling today. Every over seemed to contain one or two of the following..... wide of off, crashed to the boundary; sliding down leg, nudged/flicked to the boundary off the legs; straight half volley, driven to the boundary. Ostensibly he was hit to the boundary 8 times in 12 overs in tricky batting conditions, but you can add 2 leg byes that went to the boundary to that. Add the only no ball as well and his 2-51 actually cost 61 runs. Nearly half the Gloucs total from his 12 overs.

apart from the Carse leg side leg byes, there were 2 balls that beat Robbo. I think one was Potts (might have been Carse) that was wild, but the other was Stokes who got one to both swing and then keep low.... very low. Beat the keeper all ends up. Could have hit the stumps just as easily, without the late swing
