Leics and Yorks have a lot of work to do to get home. If we beat Derby, then we could finish 4th..... in a crazy, upbeat, topsy turvy, hopelessly optimistic world

I think that in a world where we ended up only needing to chase down 150 odd to qualify, then we'll probably screw it up and throw all our wickets away at the end

Amazingly we won with no alarms and the other two results went our way. Easy quarter final away to Surrey!

I had it written off. Thought the chances of everything going our way were close to zero.

When we lost the lottery game on Sunday, I didn't think we had a hope in hell of a QF slot

funny old game.... last year we had 4 players who scored 300+ runs and a fifth who nearly scored 300. Robbo scored 380 runs but only 145 this year. Only Clarky scored 300 runs this year with 4 more in the 200's.

Last year we won 4 games with 2 ties and a washout. This year we won 7 games with one washout, yet we scored 150 fewer runs this year. I guess the difference is that we conceded 250 fewer runs this year with no Bas, Glover and Parnell to throw our economies all to hoo

Ackers and Parky were meant to make us a better team and I guess they have, without them being terribly spectacular. We've managed to get over the line this year, when last year we just fell apart, so I imagine they give us more depth in both batting and bowling depts.

Turner earned his corn at key moments, but we need to consider exactly what we want from our OS players, because having Dwarshius here for the season and only playing him in half the matches suggests a bit of muddled thinking

Robbo and Jonesy were worth over 700 runs for us last year, but less than 250 this year. Both averaged 16's only, so either they both had a blip or we used them poorly. Robbo was up and down the order all the time and Jonesy was in and out of the side once he got back from the WC

There is still work to do, but winning half of our matches after the disaster of the first 2 suggests we are at least more resiliant than we were

I also assumed we were out after the previous game. Now that we've finally realised Bedingham is essential I agree about needing to rethink the overseas plan.

Agreed. If he's going to be an ever- present he should be captain and bowl more. The slower bowlers usually seem to be more effective- although for once the death bowling was good yesterday.
