Really! where is the evidence of that?

Finally, an explanation of how they financed Poynter's new contract.....it's all Michael Buble's fault! Thank God they didn't book Ed Sheeran, or we'd have Harmy back on the books.

Given that 3/4 of the home one day games are not being played at home, it makes me question what the point of membership is. Given that CC matches are usually played at times when it is difficult for me to go, then perhaps i should just give them £70 for the Dribble instead of the £210 I was going to give them

And also given that we were a complete embarrassment in the Dribble last year, perhaps I should just not bother

Yeah, the RL50 is effectively an away comp! Although I suppose the revenue generated by the concerts plus the diminished stature of the competition is a conundrum. Although there doesn't appear to be any suggestion that they are going to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season- I think a couple of decent signings would help placate the supporters.

Yes, still no sign of any incoming batsmen. Maybe waiting to see which South Africans are available as Kolpaks after the current series finishes? (He said, desperately grasping at straws....)

Yep!

Exactly. Don't think there have even been any vague rumours of any new players.

just checked my diary and it actually appears that a lot of the home CC matches start on a Sunday.... which changes things markedly. One even starts on a Saturday.... zoiks!

I think I will renew after all

of course it might just be a guarantee of regular Sunday wash outs, but........ hey ho! Welcome to the world of county cricket up norf

They'll probably reschedule a few 4 day games and move them to Blackpool!

Apparently, according to the Cricketer, they tried to allocate one of the RL50 games to Sedburgh school but it wasn't feasible outside school term. It really is a beautiful ground with the stunning backdrop of the Howgill Fells. I'd return in a shot if they ever revisit, particularly for a CC game.I've no objection to outgrounds even outside the county boundary providing they're attractive and easily accessible.

Interesting signings. I'm also not familiar with them but they might he useful. Suppose there was little or no chance of getting more eye catching ones but we've been calling for the squad to be strengthened and at least they've tried to do that.

I don't think I'd heard of Benks either. These two have similar pedigrees to him. Again, wouldn't have been necessary if it weren't for FTECB

Bedingham looks a prospect, but if he does well he becomes a target whilst on a season long contract

the only time I have come across Behardien was when I picked him in a fantasy league Mzansi T20 team. He was hopeless... scored hardly any points.... and didn't improve last year when somebody else picked him. Don't expect him to improve our T20 batting, but experience always counts in the CC batting

Am I right in thinking that the put Durham in rule has been scrapped?

I know they were thinking of scrapping it, have a feeling the uncontested toss rule has gone but not certain. If those two do even a moderately decent job it will probably be enough because I'd expect us to win most games with a half decent first innings score. That's assuming the bowlers stay fit...did we ever find out if Nigel has gone?
